The Venue

Bicon 2005 will be held at: University College Worcester, Henwick Grove, Worcester WR2 6AJ. [Streetmap] [Multimap] [Google map]

The city of Worcester is located approximately 25 miles south west of Birmingham, with University College being situated on a single, compact site 1 mile to the north west of the city centre.

BiCon reception, together with all meeting rooms, is situated within the central administration building. Level floors & lifts provide full access throughout.

Social space for evening entertainment is located in the Students’ Union building, approximately 2 minutes walk away. Although the bar will not be open at lunchtimes, "Café Connections" in the main block will be open for an hour each lunchtime for collection of pre booked packed lunches and ad hoc purchases of coffee & other snacks.

All overnight accommodation is in student residences, located 2-3 minutes walk from meeting rooms & social space. These comprise self contained flats with 4 or 6 bedrooms sharing shower, w.c., bath (3 separate rooms). Bed linen & towels are provided. The kitchen is equipped with fridge/freezer, cooker, cooking utensils, cutlery & crockery. A limited number of ground floor and fully wheelchair accessible rooms are available.

An abundance of green spaces between the buildings gives the site a pleasant atmosphere, with accessible pathways and drop-kerbs provided throughout.

As usual at BiCon, only self catering facilities are provided as part of the inclusive price. However, breakfasts & packed lunches will available if booked in advance. Specific dietary requirements e.g. gluten free, vegan, will be catered for. See booking form for details.

University College Worcester has a no smoking policy throughout college buildings. We will also be operating a no smoking policy in the Students’ Union during evening ents.
